Description (or Subfield and Description)
Enter the IP address of the STM through which you will access the Web
Management Interface. The factory default IP address is 192.168.1.201.
Note: If you change the IP address of the STM while being connected through
the browser, you will be disconnected. You must then open a new connection to
the new IP address and log in again. For example, if you change the default IP
address from 192.168.1.201 to 10.0.0.1, you must now enter https://10.0.0.1 in
your browser to reconnect to the Web Management Interface.
Enter the IP subnet mask. The subnet mask specifies the network number
portion of an IP address. The STM will automatically calculate the subnet mask
based on the IP address that you assign. Unless you are implementing
subnetting, use 255.255.255.0 as the subnet mask (computed by the STM).
Enter the IP address of the gateway through which you will access the STM.
Specify the IP address for the primary DNS server IP address.
As an option , specify the IP address for the secondary DNS server IP address.
For most Ethernet networks the Maximum Transmit Unit (MTU) value is 1500
Bytes, which is the default setting.
Note: NETGEAR recommends synchronizing the STM's MTU setting with that
of your network to prevent delays in transmission.
