2.8.1 Paper Size Control
The table below shows "Paper Size Switch ON/OFF conditions for SWITCH
SIZE TRAY 1 (PL4.2.8)" and corresponding "Diagnostic Tool Display Data"
according to the paper size loaded.
NOTE: Paper size switch order from the highest to lowest positions is
"SW1", "SW2", "SW3".

2.8.2 Paper Supply Selection Control
When not actively controlled by the Printer Controller, TRAY 1 is selected as
the paper supply when the power is turned ON.
NOTE: "TRAY 1" is used as the name for the printer's internal paper
supply, "TRAY 2" is the first level of the optional TRAY UNIT and
"TRAY 3" is the second level of the TRAY UNIT.
2.8.3 ROS Light Control
Image data enters the laser diode of the ROS ASSY as an electric signal (data
is expressed by high/low condition of the voltage), and the laser diode converts
that electric signal to a light signal (data is expressed by on/off condition of the
light).
Occurrence of variations such as fluxuations in laser radiation quantity,
irregularities in the optics (such as the lens) or variations in the sensitivity of the
drum can prevent the formation of a suitable electrostatic image, so the laser
diode monitors the laser radiation quantity and controls it in order to always
obtain a suitable electrostatic image.
The ROS in this printer has four separate laser diodes, one each for yellow,
magenta, cyan and black, and quantity of laser radiation is automatically
adjusted for each.
