2.5.7 Fuser Assy & BTR Assy (PL9.1)
2.5.7.1 Main Functions
FUSER ASSY (PL9.1.1)
The FUSER ASSY fixes the toner to the paper with heat and pressure, and
it also conveys the paper toward and away from the fusing location.
The FUSER ASSY is constructed of the following main components:
• Heat Roll
• Heater Lamp
• Thermostat
• Temp Sensor
Exit Sensor
Change in the actuator position detects passage of the paper after the
image is fused.
BTR ASSY (PL9.1.2)
The BTR ASSY is constructed of the BTR (Bias Transfer Roll) and the
waster toner collection system.
The BTR is positioned opposite IDT 2 of the PHD ASSY (PL11.1.3) and
transfers the toner image on IDT 2 to the paper.
FAN FUSER (PL1.1.9)
Vents heat from FUSER ASSY and prevents inside the printer overheating.
