2.14 Controller Operating Principles

This section describes C470MAIN board which is the main controller of
AcuLaser C4000.
The following describes controller features of the AcuLaser C4000.
CPU
High-speed controller with a new CPU adopted
64-bit RISC CPU Power PC 750CX 400MHz
64-bit high-speed memory PC100 SDRAM DIMM
64MB of standard RAM. The memory can be expanded up to 1GB.
ASIC
Enhanced ASIC is equipped. (VIP2, CDMC) The color management
technologies is incorporated into the hardware to achieve high-speed
processing.
Interface
Parallel Interface
Ethernet interface (100 Base-TX/10Base-T)
USB 1.1
Type-B Slot (Optional interface)
HDD
HDD can be installed. The following additional functions will become available,
upon installation of the optional HDD unit:
Storing of print jobs and printing (Reserve Job, Confidential Job)
Storing and printing of Form Overlays
Increasing the size of the I/F receiving buffer
Installation of fonts under PostScript 3 mode
NOTE: The Form Over function is available only in Windows.
Furthermore, it is not available when in PostScript3 mode.
NOTE: Only the Ethernet I/F receiving buffer may be increased in size.
