3.4 Level 2 FIP –Large Capacity Paper Unit–

3.4.1 Level 2 FIP

The following is described about troubleshooting of the Large Capacity Paper Unit.
The Level 2 FIP includes the procedures for diagnosing problems by classifying them according to error codes and other trouble symptoms. The method of problem
diagnosis allow the causes of problems to be located quickly by following the procedures indicated in the FIP or the checking procedures.

Step
Initial setting
Do the following checks show a problem?
• Paper cassette installation
1 • Condition of paper inside cassette
• Worn or damaged Roll or gear inside Feeder
• Paper scraps or foreign particles in paper path
• Drive Assy Feeder (PL17.4.5) installation
Drive Assy Feeder (PL17.4.5)
1. Carry out a print.

2. Listen for a sound to check if the Drive Assy Feeder is energized.
Is the Drive Assy Feeder energized?
Power supply to Drive Assy Feeder (PL17.4.5)
1. Disconnect the P/J140 connector from the PWBA MCU & HVPS (PL15.1.2).
2. Disconnect the P/J84 connector from the PWBA Feeder (PL17.4.1).

3. Close the I/L Switch of the PWB Drive (PL15.1.15).
4. Measure the voltage between P84-3/4 <=> P/J81-1.
Is there 24V DC between P84-3/4 <=> P/J81-1?
PWBA Feeder (PL17.4.1)
1. Carry out a print.

2. Listen for a sound to check if the Drive Assy Feeder is energized.
Is the Drive Assy Feeder energized?
5 Does the problem only occur when paper is fed from TRAY 3?

Yes
Reinstall applicable parts. Go to step 2.
