• Change Username/Password A username and password are required to configure the access
point. Enterasys Networks strongly recommends that you change your password from the
default value to ensure network security.

• Reset Username/Password
Restore from default resets the username and/or the password back to the default settings. The
default username is admin and the default password is password.

Use the username and password commands from the CLI configuration mode.

Using Web Management

Com Port Status radio buttons disable or enable the AP's com port. Default: Enable
Using the CLI
Use the com‐port command from the Global Configuration mode.
4-38 Advanced Configuration
Username is the name of the user. The default name is "admin". Length: 3‐16 characters,
case sensitive.
New Password is the password for management access. Length: 3‐16 characters, case
sensitive.
Confirm New Password requires you to re‐enter the password for verification.
