6.3 LCDS Language Resources
The Xerox highlight color commands are supported for the first time in PRISMA+LCDS
V2.02.
It should be noted that due to differing Océ and Xerox print processes a 1:1 representation
of Xerox 4850 and 4890 applications is not possible. Xerox uses "tri-level" technology that
transfers black and highlight color to the paper on a single pass. This allows the production
of color gradations from black to color by combining different dot screens. Likewise, logos
can be produced in which color and black are directly adjacent, since registration is highly
accurate.
For this reason, as a rule the Xerox color applications have to be adapted to Océ printing
systems.
LCDS language resources are described in detail in the sections "Print processing" and
"Dynamic job descriptor entries (DJDE)". The present section provides useful general infor-
mation.
6.3.1 INKLIST
The INKLIST can have up to 64 color entries, all of which must be basic colors (RED,
GREEN, BLUE, etc.). Color shadings and hues (LIGHT GREEN, GREYISH BLUE, etc.)
may not be included.
Although various colors may be included in the ink lists, only one HC in addition to black
can be printed to paper in a report. For this reason the LCDS-Module reduces all ink list
entries in the current version to black and HC (i.e., RED, GREEN, BLUE, etc. become HC)
as long as they are basic colors.
Accordingly, the IMISMATCH option in the ABNORMAL statement is always processed as
IMISMATCH=CONTINUE, regardless of the actual setting. The following example illus-
trates the LCDS-Module algorithm.
