6.1.2 Why Use Color?

There are a number of excellent reasons for using color applications:
Understanding
• Makes information easier to read through emphasis
• Increases recognition rates
• Adds visual clarity to document structure
Impact
• Color as "eye catcher"
• Boosts reader attention
• Positive psychological impact of color (e.g., prompter payment!)
Image
• Enhances the appearance of documents
• Adds impact to corporate identity and product image
• Gives documents a distinctive style
Highlight color should be deployed in a way that enables readers to immediately recognize
information that is specifically relevant and important for them – the "What's in it for me" ef-
fect.

6.1.3 Available Toner Colors

Preparing color toner for series production requires in-depth toner analysis and print tests.
Which toner colors have been tested and are available for a production series at any given
time has to be determined on a case-by-case basis.
Highlight color and custom color applications which have not yet been tested have to be
evaluated and, when necessary, tried out.
