Example 4: Two images combined
The following example shows a combined image (right) composed of a highlight-color im-
age (left) and a black image (middle). The resulting combination gives the impression of a
multi-color image.

6.2.1 Highlight Color Printers

Océ offers several printers with HC capabilities supported by the LCDS-Module:
• Twin systems
• Cut sheet printers (e.g. PS 158 DC)
• PS 200 DSC
The printer's data sheets will tell you whether it is capable of HC. Testing will determine
which printer is best suited for a particular application. This section briefly outlines how to
configure printers and print systems.
Twin
The HC twin requires printer 1 to print black and printer 2 HC. The color that printer 2 prints
depends on the toner.
For HC applications, the paper turner between printer 1 and printer 2 must be set up for
front-front operation. Thus, printers 1 and 2 print the same side of the paper web, resulting
in overprint HC output.
The LCDS-Module automatically recognizes the front-front setup and ensures that each
page is sent to both printers.
