3.2.4 Lamp Monitor Unit Connections

NOTE.RED LAMP MONITORING is not approved by the Department of
Transport and should not be used.
If the installation uses the lamp monitoring facility then Current and voltage
monitoring transformers are connected to PL1 on the OTU PCB via a 54-way
connector housing (part number 508/4/26138/004). The current and voltage
monitor transformers have two wires each, terminated in crimps that push in to the
connector housing.
Note - only 50 positions are used on the 54 way housing. Positions 1, 2, 53 and
54 are unused, as they do not line up with any of the 50 pins on plug PL1.
Figure 28 shows the pin out of PL1. LMU input 1+ and LMU input 1- (PL1 pins 1
and 2), correspond to positions 3 and 4 respectively on the 54 way housing. ZXO
input + and ZXO input - (PL1 pins 49 and 50), correspond to positions 51 and 52
respectively on the 54 way housing.
Note - LMU Input 24 (pins 47 and 48) is internally connected to the ZXO input
(pins 49 and 50). The voltage monitoring transformer can therefore
connect to either LMU input 24 or the ZXO input. Whichever input is used,
the other input must not be used for anything else. Under the voltage
monitoring transformer heading, later in this section the description
explains how to connect to the ZXO input; if this is used LMU input 24
must be left unconnected.
