Check that the mains switch on the test set is on and illuminated, indicating mains
supply is reaching the test set.
Check that low voltage DC is present on the PCBs. Look at power monitor LEDs
etc on test set modem PCB, by looking down at the rear of the PC where the LEDs
are visible below the edge of the PC.
The power monitor LEDs on the modem PCB should indicate that power is
reaching the logic PCB, as the modem PCB is powered via the logic PCB.
If power is ON switch PC off and then on again and start up the ITS software
again. If it still fails contact engineering at Poole.

4.2.4 Terminal Emulation Software

As most TC12 Instations contains a PC which has no monitor the Instation test set
PC may be used as the monitor to assist the installation commissioning and fault
diagnosis of the Instation PC. To this end the test set is supplied with a copy of the
CTERM program (an STC Terminal Emulator package).

4.2.5 Installation of Handset Software

A handset is used during installation, commissioning and testing of TC12 OTUs. It
is used to configure the OTU, and when an OTU is installed in MCE0141
controllers a handset may also be used to interrogate the controller. It is
recommended that the test set PC has a handset emulation package installed on
it. To this end the test set may be supplied with the STC PITS (Portable Intelligent
Terminal System) software.
