1 Is the duplexing unit set in the
copier correctly?
2 Try paper of a type recommended
by Canon.
3 Is the duplexing reversing roller
deformed or soiled?
4 Is the jam around the duplexing
feed roller area?
5 Is the paper sensor (PS35, PS36) of
the duplexing tray assembly
operating normally?
6 Is the paper jogging guide plate
operating normally?
7 Is the stopper plate operating
normally?
8 Does the duplexing paper feed
roller rotate?
9 Is the duplexing paper feed roller
deformed or worn?
10 Is the duplexing separation roller
deformed or worn?
11 Is the duplexing feed roller
deformed or worn?
CHAPTER 13 TROUBLESHOOTING
Yes/No
NO Set the duplexing unit
correctly. Check to
make sure that there is
no foreign matter inside
the unit.
YES Advise the user to use
recommended paper.
YES Replace the duplexing
reversing roller.
YES Check the duplexing
paper feed roller
solenoid (SL13).
NO Check the lever and
wiring; if normal,
replace the sensor.
YES Check the paper jogging
guide motor (PM14); if
normal, replace the
home position sensor
(PS40).
NO Check the stopper plate
solenoid (SL12).
NO See "Pickup fails."
NO Replace the duplexing
paper feed roller.
NO Replace the duplexing
separation roller.
YES Replace the duplexing
feed roller.
NO Check each paper plate
or duplexing tray
assembly for foreign
matter and deformation.
