FIELD
Rem Node
Enter a descriptive name for the remote node. This field can be up to eight
Name
characters.
Active
Press [SPACE BAR] and then [ENTER] to select Yes to activate or No to
deactivate this node. Inactive nodes are displayed with a minus sign "–" in
SMT menu 11.
Call
Press [SPACE BAR] and then [ENTER] to select the Call Direction.
Direction
Options are Both, Outgoing or Incoming.
Fields are disabled when the Call Direction is set to Outgoing.
Incoming
Rem Login
Type the login name that this remote node will use to call your Prestige.
The login name and the Rem Password will be used to authenticate this
node.
Rem
Type the password used when this remote node calls your Prestige.
Password
Fields are disabled when the Call Direction is set to Incoming.
Outgoing
My Login
Configure the My Login and My Password fields for PPPoA and PPPoE
encapsulation only. Enter the login name that your ISP gives you. If you
are using PPPoE encapsulation, then this field must be of the form
user@domain
My
Enter the password associated with the login name above.
Password
Authen
This field sets the authentication protocol used for outgoing calls.
Options for this field are:
CHAP/PAP - Your Prestige will accept either CHAP or PAP when
requested by this remote node.
CHAP - accept CHAP only.
PAP - accept PAP only.
Pri Phone #
Enter the first (primary) phone number from the ISP for this remote node. If
the Primary Phone number is busy or does not answer, your Prestige dials
Sec Phone
the Secondary Phone number if available. Some areas require dialing the
#
pound sign # before the phone number for local calls. Include a # symbol
at the beginning of the phone numbers as required.
Edit PPP
Move the cursor to this field and use the space bar to select [Yes] and

press [Enter] to edit the PPP options for this remote node. This brings you
to Menu 11.2 - Remote Node PPP Options (see section 25.8).
