QoS Scheduling Mechanism

The Scheduling Mechanism drop-down menu allows a selection between a Weight Fair and a Strict mechanism for emptying the
priority classes.
To view the following window, click QoS > QoS Scheduling Mechanism:
The QoS Scheduling Mechanism window has the following parameters.
Parameter
Description
Scheduling
Use the drop-down menu to select one of the following options:
Mechanism
Strict- The highest class of service is the first to process traffic. That is, the highest class of
service will finish before other queues empty.
Weight Fair- Use the weighted round-robin (WRR) algorithm to handle packets in an even
distribution in priority classes of service.
Click the Apply button at the top of the window to apply the Scheduling Mechanism.
Specifies the maximum number of packets the above specified hardware priority class of service
Max. Packets (0-
will be allowed to transmit before allowing the next lowest priority queue to transmit its packets. A
255)
value between 0 and 255 can be specified.
Click the Apply button at the bottom of the window to set the Maximum Packets value.
