Grounding Points Specifications
To meet safety and electromagnetic interference (EMI) requirements and to ensure proper operation, the
router must be adequately grounded before power is connected. To ground ACX Series routers, you
must connect a grounding cable to earth ground and then attach it to the chassis grounding points using
two paint-piercing washers and two screws (not provided) (see
Two threaded holes are provided on the front of the router chassis for connecting the router to earth
ground. The grounding points fit 0.5-inch-long SAE 10-32 screws (American). The grounding points are
spaced at 0.625-in. (15.86-mm) centers.
You must install the ACX1000 and ACX1100 routers in a restricted-access location and ensure that the
chassis is always properly grounded. The routers have a two-hole protective grounding terminal
provided on the chassis. See
connection to ground the chassis. For AC-powered systems, you must also use the grounding wire in the
AC power cord along with the two-hole grounding lug connection. This tested system meets or exceeds
all applicable EMC regulatory requirements with the two-hole protective grounding terminal.

Grounding points
NOTE: All bare grounding connection points to the router must be cleaned and coated with an
antioxidant solution before grounding the router.
NOTE: All surfaces on the router that are unplated must be brought to a bright finish and treated
with an antioxidant solution before connecting the router.
