Voice Gateway Media Card configuration on the
Small System

IP Line card configuration
There are three types of IP Line card:
• the ITG-P 24-port line card (occupies 2 slots)
• the Succession Media Card 8-port line card (occupies 1 slot)
• the Succession Media Card 32-port line card (occupies 1 slot)
If a Succession Media Card 32-port card, a Succession Media Card 8-port
card, or an ITG-P 24-port card is running IP Line 3.1 software, it is known as
a Voice Gateway Media Card.
The Voice Gateway Media Card plugs into the Small System's main or IP
expansion cabinet or chassis. The Voice Gateway Media Card communicates
with the Small System Controller (SSC) card over the ELAN using 10BaseT
connectivity.
The Voice Gateway Media Card is administered using multiple management
interfaces including:
• IP Line 3.1, a Graphical User Interface (GUI) provided by Optivity
Telephony Manager (OTM) 2.1
• a Command Line Interface (CLI)
• administration and maintenance overlays
• a Web browser interface provided by Element Manager

application.
The steps used to install a Voice Gateway Media Card on the Small System
are similar to those for any Meridian 1 or Succession 1000M Large System.

Internet Terminals (553-3001-368). Where installation differs in the
