    To operate the Companion C3050 portable, refer to Companion C3050 Portable Telephone User Guide. Registration of C3050 portables on a Meridian Companion system involves using either the Administration Terminal or Companion Manager along with the portable. For more information about the Administration Terminal, refer to Meridian Companion Administration Terminal Operations Guide.

    Open the portable’s flap. Press . The display shows MENU . Press ” or ’ until the display shows Security : Off . Press ON . If the display shows Enter PIN , go to Step 5. If the display shows Define PIN first , the previous owner of the portable did not define a Personal Identification Number (PIN) for the security lock feature.

    Registered as NORTEL 1 . Enter the system name (up to 16 characters), for example NORTEL 1. Keep pressing the button that has the letter you want until the letter appears on the display. For example, press ∞ three times to display the letter L.

    Deregistering the C3050 You can deregister the C3050 in several ways: • from the portable • from the Administration Terminal (refer to Meridian Companion Administration Terminal Operations Guide) • from Companion Manager (refer to Companion Manager Installation and Operations Guide) Deregistering the C3050 from the portable clears registration information stored in the portable and the system.
