    CD-ROM (see System requirements Palm™ Desktop software contains all of the applications you need to set up and operate your handheld. You must install this software on your desktop computer before you can use your handheld. To install and operate Palm Desktop software, your computer system must meet the requirements described in this section.

    Performing a soft reset A soft reset tells your handheld to stop what it’s doing and start over again. All records and entries stored on your handheld are retained with a soft reset. After a soft reset, the Preferences screen appears and the Date and Time option is highlighted so you can reset the date and time if needed.
