This section provides the procedures for verifying the Alcatel-Lucent 1665 DMX shelf
automatic protection switching.

These tests do NOT simulate circuit pack failures.
The tests will verify proper alarm reporting and LED indications when circuit
packs are removed.
All protected circuit packs will be tested.
A properly grounded wrist strap must always be worn while handling circuit
packs.
This test is performed with the Alcatel-Lucent 1665 DMX shelf optically looped
back on itself (that is, with the IN of the OLIU M1 looped to the OUT of the OLIU
M1, and the IN of the OLIU M2 looped to the OUT of the OLIU M2).
Prior to performing each test, the shelf under test must be clear of all alarms (that
is, only green LEDs are lit).
