Cleaning Evaporator Tube

Cleaning Evaporator Tube

If the evaporator tube becomes contaminated with nonvolatile material resulting
in poor chromatography, it is recommended that the instrument is initially
washed with a solvent suitable for the contamination, or a 1:1 mixture of
acetone/water.
Depending on use, it is recommended to clean the evaporator tube once a week
or every 40 h of use as a preventive routine. It is also recommended to clean the
unit following the use of buffers. If cleaning the unit does not solve the problems,
consult Agilent Technologies for further assistance.
Do not use solvents that contain additives when performing the cleaning

Ensure that the instrument is at equilibrium under the below conditions before

leaving the instrument unattended.
1 Set the evaporator temperature to 40 °C, the nebulizer temperatures to 40 °C,
