If the server is running an operating system, use its commands or GUI to
logoff (if necessary) and exit the operating system. Successfully exiting the
operating system causes the following prompt to appear:

After this prompt appears, press and hold the Power button for several
seconds. Holding the Power button in powers down the server.
Note: Powering down the server with the Power button does not remove all
power from the system. The +12 Volt standby power is still available to
the system even when it has been powered down. To remove standby
power from the system you must unplug both power cables from the
chassis.

CAUTION:
The power control button on the device and the power switch on the power
supply do not turn off the electrical current supplied to the device. The device
also might have more than one power cord. To remove all electrical current
from the device, ensure that all power cords are disconnected from the power
source.

After the server shuts down, unplug both AC power cords to remove standby
power from the server.

If the system is mounted in a rack, pull the chassis out of the rack as far as it will
go.

CAUTION:
Make sure that the rack is secured properly to avoid tipping when the server
unit is extended.

Loosen the thumbscrew at the front of the chassis that secures the 120 mm fan bay
and fold the fan cover open.
6.
Loosen the two thumbscrews that secure the top cover to the rear of the chassis
and fold the rear half of the top cover open.
7.
Loosen the screw that secures the non-hot plug PCI adapter board cover and
remove that cover.
8.
Slide the entire top cover toward the rear of the chassis to disengage the hooks
from the chassis housing.
