To maintain proper system cooling, do not operate the server for more than 10
minutes without either a drive or a filler panel installed in each bay.
To secure a hard disk drive into the drive tray you must have four screws, 5/16"
long with a #2 phillips drive recess.
Determining drive status
Status LEDs arranged in sets of three over each of the two bays monitor the status of
each drive. See "Controls and indicators" on page 7 for a description of the LEDs.

Removing a hard disk drive
Complete the following actions to remove a hard disk drive.

Examine the amber LEDs above the Hard Drive Bays to determine which drive
has failed. See Table 13 for information on how to interpret the LEDs.

Remove the plastic bezel on the front of the server.
