again within 30 seconds. If a critical situation is
detected in the surrounding area when driving
off, such as a person in the vehicle path, a visual
and acoustic warning is given indicating that the
driver must now take control of the vehicle. The
vehicle is not accelerated any further.
Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC is ready to
pull away when the green ç vehicle symbol
flashes cyclically.

ted to overtake on the right, for example on
motorways.

The stored speed is shown under the permanent
status display and highlighted on the speedome‐
ter. When Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC is
passive, the status display is greyed out.
If the speed of the vehicle in front or the speed
adjustment is less than the stored speed due to
the route event ahead, the segments in the
speedometer light up.
When the set specified distance is increased or
decreased, the Ò display briefly appears
under the vehicle in the permanent status dis‐
play.

On motorways or high-speed major roads,
the green ç vehicle symbol is displayed
cyclically when the vehicle is ready to pull
away.

If you depress the accelerator pedal beyond
the setting of the Active Distance Assist
DISTRONIC, the system is switched to pas‐
sive mode. The ç
appears on the driver display.
