If You Cannot Print as Expected

When the Printed Media Becomes Dirty

Problem
The reverse side of printed
media becomes dirty.
The back of the transparent
media becomes scratched.
Cause
The platen, feed roller, or
tension roller is dirty.
The media path is soiled with
dirt or ink particles.
Solution
Perform the following:
1. Clean the platen. For details
about how to clean the platen,
see page 80 "Cleaning the
Platen".
2. Clean the tension roller. For
details about how to clean the
tension roller, see page 82
"Cleaning the Tension Roller".
3. Clean the feed roller. For details
about how to clean the feed
roller, see page 82 "Cleaning
