Setting Media

This section explains how to set the media. For details about supported media or precautions for
handling media, see page 18 "About Media".

Precautions for Setting Media

Make sure to understand the following precautions before setting media:
• When loading media, take care not to trap or injure your fingers.
• When using a screwdriver to discharge air from the roll shaft, take care not to trap or injure your
fingers.
• When performing maintenance on the machine, make sure to wear the attached gloves.
• A roll media may be as heavy as 55 kg (121.3 lb.). Hold the roll media horizontally with both
hands. If you hold the roll media vertically or with one hand, the roll media may fall and cause
an injury.
• The roll shaft and media together can weigh as much as 72 kg (158. 7 lb.). When lifting, lift
together with one or more other person and be careful not to strain your body. Lifting it
carelessly or dropping it may cause an injury.

Care and Maintenance.
• You cannot set media in the following situations:
• When printing
• During maintenance or other operations
• In Sleep mode
• If media is jammed
