Connecting a system terminal (or modem)

Network module

— At the remote end, connect the cable from the modem to an RJ11

telephone jack. (If a cable is required, connect an NT8D46 cable to the

modem and to the RJ11 jack.)

— At the local end, configure the modem:

If you are using an A0381391 UDS FastTalk modem, follow the

instructions in this document. (See "Configuring an A0381391 UDS

FastTalk modem" on page 125.)

If you are using a different modem, follow the manufacturer's

instructions to set the modem for 9600 baud, autoanswer, dumb

mode, command recognition OFF, command echo OFF.
