For each event group, the report is programmed as a value from 0 to 15. If 0 (zero) is programmed, no report is sent and the
event is a Local Only event. If the value is non-zero (1-15), the two-digit report tone sent is selected using the following table:
Data Digit Selection
For example, if Data Digit Selection "5" is entered, the following report tone is transmitted ("-" equals 1 beep): -- -. There is a
1-second pause between the transmission of the first digit and the second digit. The second digit is followed by a 3-second
pause. The control panel repeats the report for a total of ten times.
Address 3414 holds the tone for Event Group 1; Address 3429 holds the tone for Event Group 16. To change an event group's
report tone, enter the data digit selection number from the table above into the appropriate programming address.
BSIA Fast Format Configuration
The control panel complies with BSIA Fast Format Protocol Specification Issue 6 dated 8/5/91. Each transmission consists of
an account code, channel information, and a status digit. Based on the control panel's configuration, the channel consists of
eight, 16, or 24 channels.
This reporting format is selected by entering "6" into the appropriate reporting format address. See Format for Destination 1
(2)) on page 43 for more information. If BSIA Fast Format is selected as the format for Destination 1, the phone numbers and
account numbers for Destination 1 are used. If BSIA Fast Format is selected for Destination 2, the phone numbers and
account numbers for Destination 2 are used.
The report routings programmed in the control panel do not directly affect the sending of reports in BSIA Fast Format. The
control panel continuously monitors the outputs assigned to the reporting channels. When there is a change to report, the
report is sent. The event does not have to be stored in the log or programmed for routing to the BSIA Fast Format's
destination. When an event is placed in the log and its destination is the BSIA Fast Format destination, the control panel marks
the event as sent when there is nothing further for the BSIA Fast Format to send. The event is marked as sent even though
the event is not configured to be reported.
The BSIA Fast Format account number is a four-digit number. The account code is programmed in the control panel with a
separate code for each area and each destination. See Area # Account Number on page 60 for more information.
The control panel supports four groups of eight reporting channels in each group. Each group is assigned to an area. Each
reporting channel can be configured to send restoral reports and can be assigned to output function types.
The status digit is a single digit. Status digit values:
− 7: Normal
− 8: Low or Missing Battery
− 9: Test Call or Low Battery Restore
When the battery voltage changes from normal to low or missing, the control panel sends a new report even if no other
channel has changed. While Output Function Type 0,15 (Low or Missing Battery) can be assigned to a channel, it only
duplicates the information sent in the status digit.
When the control panel determines that is must send a report, it dials the phone number for the destination. When a
connection is established, it checks to see if Area 1 has anything to report. If so, the account code for Area 1 is sent. All
channels assigned to Area 1 follow. The status digit follows next. The control panel then checks to see if there is anything to
report from the remaining areas. If so, the report is sent in the same phone call. With four groups of eight channels, the control
panel can be configured for eight channels on each of three or four areas, for either eight or 16 channels if there are two
areas, and for either eight, 16 or 24 channels if there is only one area.
