The Ethernet Routing Switch 8800/8600 8648GTRS is an RS module and supports the
following:
• 256 000 IP routes
• 64 000 MAC records
• Release 4.1 and earlier: 16 000
Release 5.0 and later: 32 000

8812XL SFP+ module

The 8812XL SFP+ I/O module supports twelve 10 Gbps ports, four for each lane. The 8812XL
SFP+ module is an 8800 series module. For general information on 8800 series modules, and
information on the supported switch fabric and power supplies, see
page 28.
The 8812XL module exhibits the same functionality as the 8612XLRS module. Thorough
engineering testing indicates that on a chassis, an 8812XL module can replace an 8612XLRS
module with no loss of configuration.
The 8812XL uses enhanced small form-factor pluggable (SFP+) transceivers instead of the
XFP transceivers. SFP+ optics modules are hot pluggable, serial-to-serial, data agnostic, multi-
