The 8683XLR module supports up to three 10 Gigabit Ethernet small form factor-pluggable
(XFP) transceivers. Although some of the XFPs are LAN/WAN (that is, LR/LW, ER/EW, ZR/
ZW), this module only uses the LAN functionality.
For a list of Avaya-qualified XFPs, see
page 57.
Avaya recommends that you install only one 10GBASE-ZR/ZW XFP in one 8683XLR module
due to cooling limitations on the 8683XLR and XZR modules when using standard fan trays.
Avaya further recommends that you install the XFP only in Port 1. You can install a 10GBASE-
SR, -LR/LW, or ER/EW in one or both of the remaining ports.
No XFP limitations exist for this module when you use the new cooling modules for the 8006
and 8010 chassis.
The following figure shows the location of the 8683XLR module LEDs.
