The 8812XL SFP+ I/O module supports the following:
• 256 000 IP routes
• 64 000 MAC records

8834XG module

The 8834XG modules provide support for a variety of technologies, interfaces, and feature
sets, and provide 10 Gbps port rates. The 8834XG is a 34-port combination 10 Gbps and 1
Gbps interface module based on the Route Switch Processor (RSP). The module has 4 RJ-45
and 12 SFP ports in Lane 1, 4 RJ-45 and 12 SFP ports in Lane 2, and 2 XFP ports in Lane 3.
The XFP ports support IEEE 10 Gbps LAN PHY.
The 8834XG is an 8800 series module. For general information on 8800 series modules, and
information on the supported switch fabric and power supplies, see
page 28.

Meaning
The port is transmitting or receiving
data. The blink rate indicates the
level of link activity.
The port is connected, but not linked
and has detected a Line/Remote
fault.
The module has completed the
power-on self-test and software
initialization, and is operating
normally.
• The module slot is disabled or
initializing the software.
• The module failed to boot
because, for example, the image
file failed to load.
The switch power is off or there is
no power to the module.
If the switch power is on, the module
is performing the power-on self-
test.
A module in this state is not yet
functional.
