2. TROUBLESHOOTING

2.1 ERROR CODES FOR LAN COMMUNICATION

When a communication error occurs, retry to establish the communication. If the
error recurs, see the table below and solve the problem.

ERROR CODES FOR LAN COMMUNICATION
Cause
Error occurred during sending to the
SMTP server. Occurs for any error
other than 14-01 to 16. For example,
the mail address of the system
administrator is not registered.
Failed to connect to the SMTP server
(timeout) because the server could
not be found.
• The IP address for the SMTP
server is not stored in the
machine.
• The DNS IP address is not
registered.
• Network not operating correctly.

• Register the address of the
system administrator.
• Set the User Parameter Switch
21 (15[H]) Bit 4 to "Off".
• Check the IP address of the
SMTP/DNS server.
• Check the traffic on the LAN.
• Check the machine settings
such as the SMTP port setting,
DNS server setting, and so on.
