4.2.5.12 Upper Paper Guide Removal

1. Remove the upper housing. (See section 4.2.1.)
2. Remove the front housing. (See section 4.2.2.)
3. Remove the printer mechanism. (See section 4.2.3.)
4. Remove the printheads. (See section 4.2.5.3.)
5. Remove the carriage motor. (See section 4.2.5.8.)
6. Remove the carriage. (See section 4.2.5.10.)
7. Remove the paper eject frame. (See section 4.2.5.11.)
8. Disconnect CN5 (white, 3-pins) on the main board.
9. Disconnect CN7 (white, 5-pins) on the main board.
10. Remove the tension spring (11.7) attached to the PF holding lever.

11. Remove 12 screws (8 CBS, 3×6 and 4 CBP, 3×8) securing the upper
paper guide to the printer mechanism. (See Figure 4-47.)

12. Remove 4 screws holding the upper paper guide to the paper feed
middle frame, then remove the upper paper guide.

REMINDER
During assembly, make sure the slider fits
through the notch on the upper paper guide.

1. Remove the upper housing. (See section 4.2.1.)
2. Remove the front housing. (See section 4.2.2.)
3. Remove the printer mechanism. (See section 4.2.3.)
4. Remove the printheads. (See section 4.2.5.3.)
5. Remove the carriage motor. (See section 4.2.5.8.)
6. Remove the carriage. (See section 4.2.5.10.)
7. Remove the paper eject frame. (See section 4.2.5.11.)
8. Remove the upper paper guide. (See section 4.2.5.12.)
