5. Place the curler lever on its shaft on the curler lever plate. Make sure
the curler lever is positioned exactly as shown in Figure
4-146; there should be some space between the lever and the knob on
gear (24).
The knob should
not touch the lever.

6. Remove the positioning pin.
7. Move the curler lever as far as it will go in the direction of the arrow in
Figure 4-147. The knob on gear (24) should pass freely through the
lever.
