46. Secure combination gear (24, 24) with an e-ring (4, F/Uc).
47. Make sure that gear (10) is still in the proper position, as shown in
Figure 4-177, and that the positioning pins are still in combination gear
(24, 24), gear (24), and the leftmost curler.

48. Remove all 3 positioning pins.
49. Turn combination gear (24, 24) counterclockwise and make sure that
all the curler levers snap back down into the curlers simultaneously as
soon as the paper feed roller returns to the standby position. The gear
(10) shaft will not be in the "reversed D" position after you check the
ASF by turning the combination gear. The ASF is still aligned correctly;
you can install it in the printer as is.
CAUTION
Do not rotate combination gear (24, 24)
clockwise. This may ruin the alignment of
the ASF or damage some ASF components.
