Inserting Powerbox PB3000

The Powerbox PB3000 must be operated with a closed housing.
Before opening the housing, disconnect the PB3000 from the power supply by:
turning the switch for the line voltage on the front panel of the PB3000 to the

"Off" position.
turning the switch for the battery voltage on the back side of the PB3000 housing
●
to the "Off" position.
removing the battery fuse (back side of the PB3000 housing).

unplugging all power and connection cables.

Introduction
The Powerbox PB3000 is the compatible successor to the expansion cabinet EBR. The EBR
is being discontinued and can no longer be ordered.
The Powerbox PB3000 is needed in a system:
for emergency battery operation in the event of power failure; i.e., if an uninterruptible pow-
●
er supply function is required.
if the internal system power supply unit for the HiPath 3000 is not sufficient to provide pow-
●
er to all connected terminals (corded or cordless).
The PB3000 can be equipped with:
4 batteries, each 12 V / 7 Ah and/or
●
the LUNA2 power supply
●
The PB3000, the batteries and the LUNA2 power supply are supplied in a separate package.
Caution

To avoid transport damage, Powerbox PB3000 must not be transported with the bat-
teries installed.
The batteries should be installed as described in Section 9.1.3.6.1. Only use batteries ap-
proved for HiPath 3000. The LUNA2 power supply should be installed as described in Section
9.1.3.6.2.
