inside and outside w i t h a clean dry fluffless
cloth.
Examine t h e contact breaker.

they are burned o r blackened, clean w i t h fine carborundum stone o r very fine

emery cloth, afterwards wiping away any d i r t o r metal dust w i t h a clean petrol
moistened cloth.

The contact breaker setting should be checked after the

0.014"-0.016" (0.36 t o 0.4 rnm.) feeler gauge between t h e contacts.

T o do this.

hole until the correct gap i s obtained.
Re-tighten the screw.

If t h e high tension cables show signs of perishing o r cracking, they should be replaced

mm. 'rubber covered ignition cable.
T o d o this, remove the metal washer

and moulded n u t from the defective cable.
Thread the new cable through the
moulded n u t and bare the conductor for about a! inch (6 rnm.).
Pass t h e exposed

strands through the metal washer and bend back t h e strands radially. Re-fit the

moulded n u t i n t o the
H.T.
terminal. O n the m2dels ST

bT t h e H.T. cable for the

coil t o distributor should also be treated i n
