Communications dealing w i t h any of these subjects should be addressed t o the

R e p l a c e m e n t P a r t s
O r d e r s for replacement parts should be addrtssed t o the SPARES M A N A G E R .
In all c o m m u n i c a t i o n s t h e full e n g i n e n u m b e r c o m p l e t e w i t h a l l
prefix l e t t e r s a n d figures s h o u l d b e stated.
T h i s n u m b e r w i l l b e
found o n t h e L.H. s i d e o f t h e crankcase j u s t b e l o w t h e c y l i n d e r flange.

O R D E R S
Orders should always be sent t o us i n the form of
a
l i s t and not i n letter form. Owners
are strongly advised
to
purchase a Spare Parts List so that the correct part numbers
can be quoted. These lists contain numerous exploded drawings and cross references
which make it very easy t o recognise the various parts and are also o f great assistance
i n servicing t h e model.
The specimen order which i s printed i n the Spare Pans List
should be used
as
a guide.

Owners w i l l appreciate h o w very difficult
it
is t o diagnose trouble by correspondence
and this i s made impossible i n many cases because the information sent t o us i s so
scanty.
Every possible point which may have some bearing on the matter should be
stated so that w e can send a useful and detailed reply.
R E P A I R S
Before a motorcycle i s sent t o o u r W o r k s an appointment must be made. This can
be done by l e t t e r
or
telephone.
W h e n an owner wishes t o return his machine for
I
guarantee repairs, h e should first consult his dealer
as
we do not normally accept
machines i n o u r Repair Shop until the Dealer has inspected them.
Frequently the
Dealer can overcome t h e trouble w i t h o u t
the
delay and expense o f sending the
m ~ c h i n e t o t h e Works.
This avoids tho machine being o u t of use f o r some days
when
it
could be o n t h e road.
W h e r e pans such as cylinders, petrol tanks, etc.,
are forwarded f o r repair, they should be packed securely so
as
t o avoid damage i n
transit.
The owner's name and address should be enclosed together w i t h full
instructions.
In t h e case o f complete motorcycles, a label showing the owner's
name and address should always be attached and all accessories such as tools, inflator,

handlebar m i r r o r s and other parts removed.
