Dismantling Spring Wheel
I

plunger G u i d e B o x Assembly.
Withdraw the assembly from the'hub.
I
i
B r a k e D r u m and Sprocket.
Bend back the four locking tabs and remove the
i
eight nuts securing the brake drum t o the hub.
Remove the brake drum and
sprocket and, using a suitably shaped piece of hard wood, drift o u t the brake drum
side bearing.
!
End P l a t e Bearing.
Tap out this bearing using
a
suitable soft drift.
Removal
can be facilitated by heating the back plate to approximately 100' C.
D I S M A N T L I N G T H E A N C H O R P L A T E ASSEMBLY

B r a k e Shoes.
Remove the t w o springs and lift the brake shoes away.

B r a k e C a m .
Remove the brake lever arm retaining nut and drift the cam spindle
I
out, when the lever arm and spring will also be released.
