CAUTION
● Before starting the following works, be sure to turn off the power of the PLC (programmable logic
controller), personal computer main body, S-LINK V units, and also turn off the power supply unit
of the I/O device.
• Machine assembly (installation)
• Removal or reinstallation of a S-LINK V gateway controller or connection of I/O device

Power supply unit

Observe the following items to use a power supply unit:
● This product has no short-circuit protective function. For this reason, be sure to select a power supply unit
having a short-circuit protective function (fuse, etc.).
● If power is supplied from a commercial switching regulator, ensure that the frame ground (F.G.) terminal of
the power supply is connected to an actual ground.
● Do not use during the initial transient time after the power supply is switched on. Further, transmission is
not possible when the system is in BUSY state (during switching on the power supply or system setting).
● Make sure to use an isolation transformer for the DC power supply. If an auto-transformer (single winding
transformer) is used, this product or the power supply may get damaged.
● In case a surge is generated in the used power supply, connect a surge absorber to the power supply and
absorb the surge.

Wiring

Observe the following items to distribute cables:
● Make sure to carry out the installation and the wiring in the power supply off condition.
● Be sure to use the specified S-LINK V cables.
● To protect the cables from noise, shorten the cable length as far as possible.
● Do not run the wires together with high-voltage lines or power lines or put them in the same raceway. This
can cause malfunction due to induction.
● Do not completely fold down any cables.
● Do not pull any cables with a strong force.
● Do not apply any weight to any cable.
● Do not touch a cable to any other system cables. This is because signals of different systems may interfere
with each other.
● Take care that wrong wiring damage the sensor.

Others

● Apply the specified torque to tighten the terminal screws.
● Check the connectors for looseness.
● Do not disassemble or modify this product.
● Before touching this product, be sure to discharge the static electricity from your body. This is because
static electricity on your body may damage the product.
● Design the system so that the system protective devices and safety circuits are outside the system.
