Is media printed at a high density being taken
o
up?
If thin media or media lengthened by water
absorption is printed at a high density is being taken
up, creases may appear in the media in the after
heater. Set Take-up Tension to Manual in the
settings menu, and reduce the settings. Alternatively,
we recommend using thicker media.

Is the after heater temperature too high?
o
Adjust the after heater temperature to suit the media.
Vertical creases occur between the
pressure rollers
When using thin media or media lengthened by water
absorption, vertical creases may occur between the
pressure rollers. When vertical creases occur in media
on the platen, head striking may occur. Perform the
following sequence until the vertical creases have
improved.

Set Feeding Tension to Manual and increase the
value.

Change Take-up Tension to Manual, and
reduce the value.

Attach a spacer in the hollow of the media
loading lever.

Media Jams

Is the media creased or folded?
o
Media with a strong curl or that is folded back on its
leading edge or creased may cause jams or other
media feed problems. Do not use media affected by
these types of problems.
Is the media too thick or too thin?
o
Check the media specifications to determine whether
it can be used in the printer. If you are using a software
RIP, contact the manufacturer for information on the
settings and media that can be used.
Is Media Suction set too high?
o

Printing does not stop when the roll
ends
Is Media End Check set to Off in the Printer

Setup?
Normally, Media End Check should be set to On. U

Removing Jammed Media

Follow the steps below to remove jammed media.
Caution:
Be careful not to trap your hands or fingers when
opening or closing the front cover. Failure to observe
this precaution could result in injury.
