Wipe off ink that has adhered to the guide
section.

Hold a new cleaning stick in a perpendicular
orientation, and wipe off any ink cleaner that has
adhered to the inside of the Anti-drying caps.

Important:
Do not touch the insides of the suction caps.
The part maybe deformed, and it may no
longer be possible to perform capping
correctly.
Clean other caps in the same way.
Maintenance

After cleaning, close the right maintenance cover
and press the Z button twice.
The menus will close when the print head returns to its
normal position.
To continuously make prints, perform Nozzle Check.

Cleaning the Platen, Pressure
Rollers, and Media Holding
Plates
Ink and particles of media and lint from the media
accumulate on the platen, pressure rollers, and media
holding plates. Ink on these surfaces may be transferred
to the media. Clean them thoroughly.
Caution:
❏ The after heater may be hot; observe all
necessary precautions. Failure to observe the
necessary precautions could result in burns.
❏ Be careful not to trap your hands or fingers
when opening or closing the front cover. Failure
to observe this precaution could result in
injury.

Important:
Do not use ink cleaner when cleaning the platen,
high pressure rollers, or media holding plates.
Before starting this procedure, be sure to read the
following:
"Precautions regarding maintenance" on page 57

Make sure the printer is turned off and the screen
has turned off, and then unplug the power cable
from the outlet.

Leave the printer for a minute.
