Automatically setting edit points
Four edit points are necessary for editing: the RECORDER IN and OUT
points and the PLAYER IN and OUT points. However, if three of these points
are set on the control panel, the fourth is calculated and set automatically.
The edit points enclosed in boxes in the diagram below are already set, and the
PLAYER OUT point is automatically set from calculations.

Although the remaining edit point is set automatically, the edit points can be
changed as desired.
The CURRENT TC ENTRY command inputs current time data for IN and OUT
points currently selected with the cursor in Edit mode on the LCD. To set edit points
using this command, perform the following procedure instead of step 7 in "To
specify edit points with the IN, OUT, and ENTRY buttons" (page 6-9).
To set the IN point
Position the cursor over IN using the MULTI CONTROL knob and press the
B1 key.
To set the OUT point
Position the cursor over OUT using the MULTI CONTROL knob and press
the B1 key.
The MANUAL TC ENTRY command specifies the IN and OUT points
directly with time data values. If the IN or OUT point is already set, specify
the duration with the MANUAL TC ENTRY command and the other point is
calculated and set automatically.
To set edit points using this command, perform the following procedure
instead of steps 6 and 7 in "To specify edit points with the IN, OUT, and
ENTRY buttons" (page 6-9).
