Annual Fluid Change

CAUTION
Change the fl uid at the beginning of each
plowing season. Failure to do this could
result in condensation buildup during the
non-plowing season.
CAUTION
Do not mix different kinds of hydraulic
fl uid. Some fl uids are not compatible and
may cause performance problems and
product damage.
1. Perform this operation with the snowplow
attached to the truck on a hard level surface.
2. Lower the blade to the ground.
3. Activate the control FLOAT function and
manually collapse the lift ram all the way (not
required for HTS™ blades). Turn the control
OFF.

MAINTENANCE
4. HTS Blades and Straight Blades: Remove
the hydraulic unit cover as described in the
Blade Drop Speed Adjustment procedure in
the Operating Your Snowplow section.
NOTE: Loosen fi ll plug slowly to relieve any
pressure in the reservoir.
5. Remove the drain plug located in the bottom
of the hydraulic reservoir for straight blades,
or the drain cap located on the fi tting side
of the hydraulic unit for MVP PLUS™ and
WIDE-OUT™ snowplows. (See illustrations on
the previous page.)
6. Completely drain the reservoir and replace the
drain plug/cap.
7.
Carefully note hose routing and positions of any
protective hose wraps for proper reassembly.
8. Remove the angle ram hoses from the fi ttings
on the hydraulic unit and place in a drain pan
or suitable container. (See the following
