6.14.3 Restrictions for Use

WARNING
Unallowable use as a seat in a wheelchair accessible
vehicle
Serious injuries due to use with unapproved accessory
combinations
► The power wheelchair cannot be used as a seat in a
wheelchair accessible vehicle with all equipment and
accessory combinations. Observe the restrictions
described below.
Use in a wheelchair accessible vehicle is not permissible if
the following options are used:
Mechanical or power seat tilt 20°
Recaro® n-Joy, Recaro® n-Joy-Plus or modular Recaro®
seat system
Combination of the following:
Standard seat, large, and seat height 45 cm
Contour seat, large, and seat height 52 cm

6.14.4 Necessary accessories

An anchor kit is required to use the power wheelchair as a
seat in a wheelchair accessible vehicle. The qualified per­
sonnel who fit the wheelchair can provide more information.
The weight of the person being transported is limited to
max. 100 kg in a wheelchair accessible vehicle.
B500 classic/advanced

6.14.5 Use

Ensure that the wheelchair is fully secured with lashing
straps for transport in a wheelchair accessible vehicle. For
more information please refer to our brochure on using
Ottobock products in wheelchair accessible vehicles, order
number 646D158.
Straps can be attached via the eyebolts on the frame (see
section 'Necessary accessories').
Before transporting the power wheelchair switch off the con­
trol unit and engage the brake.

6.15 Care

6.15.1 Safety Instructions

NOTICE
Incorrect cleaning
Risk of damage to the product, especially to the electronics
► Water must not come into direct contact with the elec­
tronics, motor or battery under any circumstances.
► Never use a water jet or high-pressure cleaning appar­
atus to clean the product.
► Use a cloth or sponge for cleaning.
► To avoid corrosion, don't use any aggressive cleaning
agents or solvents.
► Check the driving behaviour of the product after clean­
ing it.
