B500 classic/advanced
► Note that the armrests are not capable of bearing full
body weight, and therefore must not be used for get
ting into or out of the wheelchair.
► Ensure that your limbs are not in the danger area when
swinging the footrests out or in.
The modular design of the power wheelchair and the ease
with which you can remove the side panels and footrests
make it easy to get into and out of the wheelchair from the
side or from the front.
Users can choose the method for getting into and out of the
wheelchair which is most suitable for them.
Getting in from the front
CAUTION
Exposed pinch points
Pinching, crushing of fingers
► Ensure that your fingers are not in the danger area
when flipping the footrests up or down.
1) Place the seat in the horizontal position.
2) Flip the footrests up (see Fig. 11) or remove them to
gain a larger entry and exit area (see Fig. 10). Removing
the footrests increases the available entry or exit area
(see Fig. 12).
3) Have an attendant assist you or use a transfer lifter to
get into and out of the power wheelchair.
