basic network information on the PowerConnect 8000/8100-series switch. For

Enabling the DHCP Client on the OOB Port
Beginning in Privileged EXEC mode, use the following commands to enable
the DHCP client on the OOB port.

interface out-of-band
ip address dhcp
CTRL + Z
show ip interface out-of-
band
Enabling the DHCP Client on the Default VLAN
Beginning in Privileged EXEC mode, use the following commands to enable
the DHCP client on the default VLAN, which is VLAN 1.

configure
interface vlan 1
ip address dhcp
ipv6 address dhcp
CTRL + Z
show ip interface vlan 1 Display network information for VLAN 1.

Setting Basic Network Information
Purpose
Enter Global Configuration mode.
Enter Interface Configuration mode for the OOB port.
Enable the DHCP client.
Exit to Privileged EXEC mode.
Display network information for the OOB port.
Purpose
Enter Global Configuration mode.
Enter Interface Configuration mode for VLAN 1.
Enable the DHCP client.
Enable the DHCPv6 client.
Exit to Privileged EXEC mode.
