Error codes - video display

The system BIOS displays POST error messages on the video screen. POST error
codes are logged in the SEL. The following table defines POST error codes and
their associated messages. The xSeries 382 BIOS prompt you to press a key in
case of serious errors.
Some errors are displayed on the screen in red text. These are critical events that
require user interaction and the BIOS POST pauses awaiting user input, prompting
with a message requesting Press F1, F2, or ESC. This error code type is indicated
in the table below as a Yes in the column heading Pause On Boot. This type of
error causes the system to pause during system boot. Pausing for user interaction
can be overridden in BIOS Setup.
Other error codes are displayed on the screen in yellow. These errors are
non-critical and are displayed briefly during POST. These errors are also logged to
the SEL. This error code type is indicated in the table below as a No in the column
heading Pause On Boot.
