Chapter 4. Customer replaceable units

This chapter provides basic instructions for installing a limited number of hardware
options in your server. These instructions are intended for users who are
experienced with setting up IBM server hardware. If you need more detailed
instructions, see the Option Installation Guide on the IBM xSeries Documentation
CD.

Installation guidelines

Before you begin installing options in your server, read the following information:
v Review the Appendix B, "Related service information", on page 95 and "Handling

System reliability guidelines

To help ensure proper cooling and system reliability, make sure that:
