■ Transmitting an SDM

D General
The short data message, SDM, can be sent to an ndvdual
staton or group statons. Also, 8 SDM memory channels are
avalable and the messages can be edted va PC program-
mng.
D Transmitting an SDM
q Durng stand-by operaton, push [BIIS Button], then push
[CH Up] or [CH Down] to select the desred staton/group
code.
w Push [BIIS Button] agan, then push [CH Up] or
[CH Down] to select the desred SDM.

SDM is displayed.
e Push [Call] or [PTT]* to transmt the SDM to the selected
staton/group.
* PTT call can be made only when PTT call capablty s permtted.
• 2 beeps sound and the transcever returns to stand-by opera-
ton automatcally when the transmsson s successful.

q Durng stand-by operaton, push [BIIS Button] twce,
then push [CH Up] or [CH Down] to select the desred
SDM to be edted.
• " " appears.
w Push [M] or [#] to enter the message edtng condton.
• The frst character blnks when [#] s pushed, the last character
blnks when [M] s pushed.
• " " blnks.
e Push the approprate dgt key, [0] to [9], to enter the de-
sred character.
• See the table at the next page for the avalable characters.
• Pushng [CH Up] also enters space, pushng [CH Down] de-
letes the selected character.
r Push [#] to move the cursor to the rght, push [M] to move
the cursor to the left.
t Repeat steps e and r to set the desred text message.
y Push and hold [BIIS Button] for 1 sec. to overwrte the
set message nto the message memory.
• Push [BIIS Button] momentarly to cancel the edtng and re-
turn to the orgnal message ndcaton.
