PREPARATION

■ Programmable function keys
The followng functons can be assgned to [UP], [DOWN],
[P0], [P1], [P2], [P3] and [P4] programmable functon keys.
Consult your Icom dealer or system operator for detals con-
cernng your transcevers programmng.
If the programmable functon names are bracketed n the fol-
lowng explanatons, the specfic key s used to actvate the
functon depends on the programmng.
D For BIIS 1200 operation only
BIIS BUTTON KEY
➥ Push to toggle the call ID lst, transmt message and stand-
by operaton.
➥ Push to toggle between queue channel and receved mes-
sage record ndcaton after queue channel s selected.
➥ Push and hold for 1 sec. to select queue channel ndca-
ton.
STATUS UP/DOWN KEYS
➥ Durng stand-by operaton, push to dsplay the transmt sta-
tus ndcaton and select a status number.
➥ When a receved SDM (Short Data Message) s dsplayed,
push to cancel the automatc scroll and scroll the message
manually.
➥ When an SDM that contans more than 12 characters s
dsplayed, push to scroll the message manually.

D For MDC 1200 system operation only
MDC CALL KEY
➥ Push to enter the MDC menu selecton mode. Then select
the desred MDC menu from "SELCALL," "CALALERT,"
"STUN," "REVIVE," "RADIOCHK," "STATUS", "MSG" and
"CALL LOG" usng [CH Up] or [CH Down].
After selecton, push ths key agan to enter the transcever
alas selecton mode.
• No operaton s performed for about 15 sec., the transcever
returns to the normal operaton condton.
➥ Whle n the transcever alas selecton mode, push to return
to the MDC menu selecton mode.
MDC SELCALL KEY
Push to enter the transcever alas selecton mode for
SelCall.
• After the desred alas selecton, push [PTT] to transmt a SelCall.
• No operaton s performed for about 15 sec., the transcever returns
to the normal operaton condton.
MDC CALLALERT KEY
Push to enter the transcever alas selecton mode for
CallAlert.
• After the desred alas selecton, push [PTT] to transmt a Call
Alert.
• No operaton s performed for about 15 sec., the transcever returns
to the normal operaton condton.
